This is a one-hour session ideal for Monitoring and Evaluation professionals who are interested in learning more about using statistics for measuring impact. It is the second of two parts on the topic "Measuring impact quantitatively". The first session discusses the 'design and collect' process and this session focuses on statistics.

Some of the points we discuss are:

  • Modelling randomness in the measurement process
  • Moving from statistical significance (p-values) to measures of effect size and confidence intervals.

The content is particularly useful to M&E practitioners who are responsible for designing surveys and data collection tools for their organization and wish to expand their knowledge on working with quantitative data, data analysis and methods to demonstrate the impact of their work.
