The field of Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Collaboration is emerging as a key response to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the World Humanitarian Summit, the New York Declaration, and the twin resolutions on Sustaining Peace. They call for a new way of working with joined-up efforts to deliver on some of the most important challenges of our time.
This facilitated learning exchange will provide a space for practitioners to deepen their understanding, broaden their professional repertoire and engage with peers across the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus.
Upon the conclusion of the learning exchange, participants will be able to:
Demonstrate a solid common understanding of the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Collaboration
Discuss key characteristics of the humanitarian, development and peace disciplines and gains to be made from collaboration and cooperation;
Reflect on the challenges and dilemmas related to the nexus and ways to balance principles in joined-up efforts;
Apply the HDP nexus/collaboration to country contexts;
Network across a diverse array of practitioners to exchange experiences and insights.
Through interactive and participatory sessions, combined with inputs from subject matter experts from HDP backgrounds, participants will be exposed to the current conceptual framework of the HDP collaboration. In a learning exchange, greater emphasis will be put on peer-to-peer exchange, discussion and reflection. The objective of the learning exchange is co-creation. Every participant brings their experience, input and voice as key components to the learning experience.
