We are very pleased to launch the Field Managers In Emergencies, Learning & Development Programme (FIELD), a ground-breaking, free capacity strengthening programme for managers working in disaster response. Created by Save the Children UK and World Vision, FIELD’s focus is to develop the pool of local, national, and international staff who can prepare for and take charge of in-country operational programmes in humanitarian responses.

Is this learning programme for me?

FIELD has been specifically designed around the needs of Field Managers and other professionals with experience working in local, national or international NGOs, CSOs and humanitarian agencies. The programme was developed in collaboration with over 100 experts and specialists with a wide range of backgrounds from across the world to make sure FIELD’s learning resources are engaging, accurate and relevant.

How will I benefit from it?

FIELD focuses on building the knowledge, skills and capacity of those undertaking a frontline managerial role. The programme aims to increase the capabilities of local organisations to find, organise and mobilise staff and resources and get these resources to people in need; thereby improving the speed and quality of response.

How long will it take?

FIELD is completely self-directed. All learning resources are available on-demand and you can access the learning material wherever, whenever and however best suits your needs. Learn at your own pace and at a time convenient to you, whether online, or offline.

Where can I access it?

FIELD is available for free on the Academy’s online learning platform, Kaya, which currently provides free online learning to 120,000 humanitarian professionals and volunteers.
