Anyone involved in advocacy on European or national policy concerning the return of children in migration from EU member states to countries of origin will be interested in this webinar.

Lecturers will introduce new guidance from UN and international organisations and civil society organisations on the procedural and practical measures which should be in place. It will highlight common advocacy messages calling on governments to ensure that the legal, policy and procedural foundation stones are in place when decisions on migrant children’s lives are made.

Presenters:

Laetitia Van der Vennet has worked on the intersection of human rights and migration for nearly a decade. She leads PICUM’s advocacy work on undocumented children, families and youth, previously coordinated the Belgian network on children in migration, Plate-forme Mineurs en exil, and worked for UN Human Rights in West Africa.

Rebecca O’Donnell is an Irish lawyer with extensive experience in EU legal and public affairs. Her areas of expertise include fundamental rights, child friendly justice, child protection, asylum, migration and trafficking policies. She is cofounder of Child Circle, since 2014. She formerly worked in Save the Children EU Office as senior child protection adviser and as a partner in the EU office of an international law firm.
