What is Social Leadership?

Social Leadership is a style of leadership fit for the Social Age, the world of constant change we live in today. It is a form of authority earned within our communities, and founded upon our reputation. It can complement our formal authority, within a hierarchy, but it is also available to those with no formal power at all. Social Leaders help an organisation to thrive, by connecting the power of the community to the everyday challenges of work. Social Leadership is built upon humility, fairness and kindness, but it’s no soft form of power: it’s a power that is earned and, because of that, it carries great weight. It’s built upon trust.
