This month of April has witnessed two fighting incidents between the Nuba refugees settled in Yida and the host communities of Panrieng County. A fight occurred between the host community and the Nuba Mountains refugees in Lake Jau in the border between South Sudan and Sudan, the fighting which erupted on Monday 13th of April 2015 was caused by an attempt by some elements believed to be from the SPLA-N who raided a herd of cattle owned by the Dinka of Panrieng. The youth who were herding the cattle managed to restore the stolen cattle losing one person while the suspected SPLA-N, three were reported killed.

Over the last two years, similar incidents occurred and SPLA-N elements were suspected to be involved in the attempts to raid cattle owned by the host community. With the current incident, the good relationship between the host community and the refugees has soared into bitterness.
