At 11:56 local time on April 25th, 2015, a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal and caused great damage.Its epicenter is 77km northwest from Kathmandu. After hearing the news, AMDA headquarter started to prepare to dispatch a team, consisting of one coordinator and a nurse.

Today on 26th, the team departed to Kuala Lumpur from Japan and arrived in They will stand by in Kuala Lumpur for the next available flight to Kathmandu tomorrow.

According to AMDA Nepal, many people are living outside of their houses due to their fear of continuous aftershocks scaling more than Magnitude of 4.0. Some roads to the center of Kathmandu are cut off and difficult to access to some places.

Therefore, AMDA Nepal started to mobilize their members to conduct mobile health clinic in the areas where they reside. No electricity, water, internet access or landline is available. Only available communication tool is mobile phones, which sometimes difficult to be connected. In consultation with AMDA Nepal, the dispatched team will determine what relief activity the team can do for the affected people.
