Tropical Storm Jerry threatened the islands of the Eastern Caribbean namely Barbados, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Tobago during the period October 6th to 8th, 2001. The system with maximum wind strength of 50mph did not adversely affect any of CDERA Participating States. The following is a synopsis of the event:

BARBADOS Advisories and a Storm watch was issued on Saturday October 6, 2001.The EOC was activated and a warning was issued by the Government on Sunday October 7, 2001. This warning was discontinued at 5:00pm the same day.One house was reported damaged in the Parish of St. Andrew.
GRENADA The Emergency Operations Center was activated on October 7, 2001.After meeting of all the relevant agencies of the NEAC and the absence of any serious threat the EOC was deactivated.
SAINT LUCIA A preliminary meeting was held on October 7, 2001 and the EOC was activated at 8:00am and deactivated at 2:00pm.
ST VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES A meeting of the Emergency Executive Committee was convened on Sunday October 7, 2001. A brief report was presented by critical agencies.The Prime Minister was briefed immediately following the meeting.Contact was also made with the Grenadines where there was a threat of impact from the storm.There were no reported incidents of damage but schools were closed on Monday October 8, 2001 due to heavy rains the night before and uncertain weather conditions.Business offices and stores remained open to the public.
