MAP International Partners to Provide Additional Relief to Liberia

Atlanta (February 2nd, 2015) – MAP International, a global Christian humanitarian relief agency based in Georgia has been working for the past 11 months to contain and stop the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

In March, MAP International launched an emergency response to support its teams and partners in West Africa following the rapidly moving Ebola outbreak. To date, officials are reporting nearly 9,000 deaths in West Africa due to this horrific virus. MAP International has now provided over 33,000 Personal Protective Suits (PPE’s) and over $16 million in essential medicines and supplies to fight this outbreak. Due to recent reports that the virus is potentially mutating into a more contagious but less deadly virus, MAP is prepositioning itself with its partners to provide what’s needed to contain the virus.

Partnering with world glass NGOs like Tearfund Belgium and Tearfund Netherlands gives MAP the ability to increase the supply of medicines, supplies and protective gear. Protective suits and gear are vital in ending this outbreak. Currently this partnership has provided over $40,000 in additional funding, which will provide an estimated $2 million in aid to those in most need. MAP works strategically with its partners provide relief in disaster and outbreak situations.
