BANGKOK, 10 September 2014 (NNT) - His Majesty the King yesterday designated Thanpuying Vilawan Viranuwat, an executive member of the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under the Royal Patronage, to visit children orphaned by floods during 2002-2011 in Ayutthaya Province.

Thanpuying Wilawan on the day visited eight orphaned people at their respective homes in Bang Sai and Sena Districts. These people have been assisted by the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation since their parents died in the floods, and the visit was aimed at monitoring their living conditions. They are mostly school students with three studying at the university level.

Rajaprajanugroh Foundation has been established by His Majesty the King to provide assistance to people who have suffered from natural disasters as well as other causes of hardship nationwide. The assistance mostly comes in the form of educational support, and construction and repairs of houses and schools affected by natural disasters.

Each year the foundation also hands out a lot of scholarships to underprivileged children throughout the country to allow them to grow up in a quality life.
