Balkans: On 13 May, cyclone Tamara hit the Balkans. Heavy rainfall resulted in extensive flooding in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia; 1.6 million, 1.5 million, and 38,000 people have been affected, respectively. In total, 81,879 people have been evacuated. Relief efforts are being hampered by landslides, damaged infrastructure, blocked roads, and blackouts.

Central African Republic: Access to Kaga Bandoro area has been hampered by fighting, and access is restricted in Nana-Mambere, Ouham Pende, Ouham, and Nana Gribizi prefectures. 21,000 people are reported trapped in 11 locations, including Boda (Lobaye prefecture), Yaloke (Ombella Mpoko), Berberati (Mambere-Kadei), Bozoum (Ouham Pende), and the PK5 district of Bangui.

Syria: Government forces have gained ground in Aleppo while bomb attacks have occurred in Damascus, Homs and Dar’a. Russia and China vetoed the UN Security Council resolution to refer the situation in Syria to the International Criminal Court.
