Initiative taken to renovate malfunctioned potable water supply facilities in Hagaz sub-zone

Hagaz, 30 December 2013 – The Administration of Hagaz sub-zone indicated that an initiative has been taken to renovate malfunctioned potable water supply facilities in the Administrative areas of Hashishai, Badob and Enchinaq.

Mr. Woldu Samuel, in charge of the project’s follow-up, disclosed that a total of 6 solar power-driven potable water supply facilities in Ad-Fakai, Fana, Enchinaq and Ad-Omar Administrative areas are operating well, while the renovation process would continue focusing on the facility in Shitel area and the dam in Ashera.

Accordingly, installation of pipelines is underway with a view to raising potable water supply for Asher area from the facility in Shitel. Furthermore, alluvial deposits in the micro-dams and ponds in the locality are being removed through popular undertakings.

In this connection, the inhabitants of the sub-zone have called for widespread resort to solar power in a bid to ensuring sustainability of potable water supply facilities.
