SITUATION OVERVIEW

Over 2.2 million people are expected to need food assistance at the peak of the lean season from January to March 2014. Ongoing drought in the southern part of the country will continue into 2014. Zimbabwe continues facing waterborn disease with one-third of the population having no access to clean water and only less than half of the population access to improved sanitation facilities. Irregular migrants and asylum seekers also require humanitarian response.
