Highlights

  • A Rapid Emergency Food Security Assessment (EFSA) in the CAR reveals that the most vulnerable people eat once a day and meals have become less diverse.

  • There is high risk of a nutritional crisis during the lean season if urgent assistance is not provided.

  • 484,000 people are vulnerable to food insecurity countrywide.

  • The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWSNET) highlights that households in the central, northern, and eastern areas of the country will be in Crisis (IPC Phase 3) between May and the next harvest (from September to December).

  • Protection monitoring missions in the CAR revealed the following violations: arbitrary arrest and illegal detention, torture, extortion of goods, armed robbery, physical violence including sexual violence, rape and attempted rape, abduction, restriction of movement, targeted lootings and attacks on civilians.

  • Mobile clinics in M'brès, Nana Gribizi Province provide health care services to the population.
