In Darfur, about 300,000 people have been displaced by either inter-tribal fighting or conflict between armed movements and the government since January 2013. In South Kordofan and Blue Nile, according to figures from the Government’s Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) for government-controlled areas and from the Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Agency (SRRA) for SPLM-N areas, over a million people remain displaced or severely affected by fighting. Of the 220,000 – 350,000 people of South Sudanese origin that remain in Sudan, some 40,000 remain stranded in departure points in Khartoum waiting for transportation to South Sudan.
