  • Heavy rainfall since 15 March affected western Colombia causing floods in the departments of Choco and Cauca. Colombian government reports floods by overflowing rivers in the municipalities of Novita, San Jose and Medio San Juan and a State of Emergency has been declared.

  • According to national officials quoted in local media, as of 17 March ca. 4,000 families have been affected in these areas. According to the same sources, humanitarian aid to the flood-struck areas is rendered difficult by roads blocked or destroyed by floods.
