Japan Contributes 53.3 Million USD to Support Consolidation of Peace in South Sudan

The Government of Japan had decided to contribute a total of 53.3 million US dollars to the UN and international organizations to support consolidation of peace in South Sudan. This contribution comes from Japan’s supplementary budget for FY 2012 and is expected to respond to the emergency humanitarian needs especially for vulnerable people. While Japan’s contribution to African countries through this budget amounts to 525.4 million US dollars in total, more than 10 % of which is allocated to South Sudan.
