Typhoon Bopha, known locally as Pablo, struck the east coast of Mindanao in 4 December 2012, destroying houses and infrastructure and decimating agricultural land.

Low Pressure Area developed into a Tropical Depression Shanshan (Crising) and made landfall in southern Davao del Sur province on 19 February 2013 causing flashfloods in Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur and Cotabato provinces.
