Construction work of eight-km road inaugurated in Kapisa

H.E. Minister Wais Ahmad Barmak, Minister of Rural Rehabilitation inaugurated the construction work of a road in Kohistan district of Kapisa province.

This 8.3-km long and five meters width road along with culverts and retaining wall will construct basically. With the completion of this road Sayad will be connected with Hes-e-Dawam kohistan district.

This road will be completed in upcoming one year through National Rural Access Program of the MRRD at a cost of approximately AFN 42 million from the budget of High Peace Council. More than 34000 residents of 42 villages will benefit the facilities of this project.

During his trip to Kapisa province, MRRD’s minister visited Kalota and Ancho villages of kohistan district. MRRD will construct a bridge in the mentioned villages in the near future which will connect Kapisa and Parwan provinces.

Also MRRD’s Minister visited Kohband district of Kapisa province and promised that his ministry will dispatch a technical team for the survey of eight-km road.

In this trip, MRRD’s Minister was accompanied by Mehrabuddin Safi Governor of Kapisa province, Iqbal Safi representative of the people in the parliament, Tahir Safi and Abdul Hadi Safi advisors for the office of the president, local authorities and local residents.

It is pertinent to mention that from the commencement of its activities the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has invested more than AFN one billion and 500 million on the implementation of development projects in Kapisa province. In 1392 (solar year), in addition to developmental activities, this ministry will allocate nearly AFN 200 million for the vulnerable districts of Ala Sai and Tagab from development budget.
