  • Significant humanitarian response gaps exist in adequately addressing the needs of the affected communities nearly three week on.

  • Though figures are unavailable, initial reports indicate there are increasing numbers of diarrhea cases especially among women and children due to unhygienic conditions.

  • The opening of the new school term is postponed by a week for better preparations.

  • On 28 December, the government and its humanitarian partners started revising the Bopha Action Plan (BAP) for response and recovery. The original BAP launched on 10 December requested for US$65 million which is 20 per cent funded with US$13 million committed and 7 million in pledges.
