Highlights

  • Typhoon Bopha (locally known as Pablo) dissipated by the morning of 10 December, leaving 647 dead and 780 still missing.

  • Out of 302,586 people who remain displaced, 133,892 are currently in 172 evacuation centres.

  • Rapid needs assessments indicate a dire need for water, food, shelter, medicines, non-food items, such as generators, and protection in Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley and Agusan del Sur.

  • On 10 December, the Government and the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) launched the Bopha Action Plan for Response and Recovery as part of the Philippines Humanitarian Action Plan 2013, requesting US$65 million to reach 481,000 of the most affected people.
