NIGERIA, Sept. 6 -- Pusong Pinoy Association (PPA) in Nigeria turned over to the Philippine Embassy officials in Nigeria their donation for flood victims in the Philippines.

PPA President John Eugene R. Hernandez, accompanied by the Association’s Treasurer, Ms. Mercy Subibe, public relations officers (PROs) Jumar Valenzuela and Engelbert Llames, turned over to Philippine Ambassador to Nigeria Alex V. Lamadrid on September 3 the PPA’s cash donation for the benefit of the victims of the recent flooding in the Philippines, in the amount of US$2,000.00, a statement from DFA said.

PPA requested that the cash donation be sent to the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC).

The donation was witnessed by the Embassy’s Administrative Officer Anita P. Dela Cruz, Public Information Officer Nadjefah A. Mangondaya, Cultural Officer Felisa V. Ramos and Assistant Communications Officer Clifford V. Legal.

Ambassador Lamadrid expressed sincere appreciation to PPA for their initiative in raising funds to donate to our less-fortunate “kababayans” back home.

Ambassador Lamadrid added that the PPA donation will be immediately sent to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), for turn-over to the PNRC.

Mr. Hernandez thanked Ambassador Lamadrid for his assistance to the PPA, as well the support of the whole Embassy family for their activities. (DFA)
