Release of the fourth edition of the Monitoring and Evaluation toolkit

The Global Fund is pleased to announce the release of the fourth edition of the Monitoring and Evaluation toolkit. This resource, developed in close collaboration with technical partners and in-country stakeholders, is designed to support the improved monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of HIV, TB, malaria, health and community systems strengthening programs.

The fourth version of the toolkit reflects the latest updates on the development of harmonized M&E frameworks, Global Fund performance-based funding requirements across the grant lifecycle, and guidance on strengthening national M&E systems. In particular, the revised version of the toolkit includes indicators recommended for monitoring service quality; equity; health and community systems strengthening; and contributions to maternal, newborn and child health; as well as updated guidance on Global Fund processes, including periodic review.

The toolkit can be used by M&E professionals, program managers, Country Coordinating Mechanisms, Local Fund Agents, Principal Recipients and sub-recipients, as well as other interested stakeholders.

This final version of the toolkit replaces the beta version that was posted on the Global Fund website in November 2011. French and Spanish translations will be available in the coming weeks.
