The 2011 Ethiopia Demographic and Health Survey (EDHS) was conducted by the Central Statistical Agency (CSA) under the auspices of the Ministry of Health. The Ethiopian Health and Nutrition Research Institute (EHNRI) was responsible for the testing of HIV from the dried blood samples (DBS). This is the third Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) conducted in Ethiopia, under the worldwide MEASURE DHS project, a USAID-funded project providing support and technical assistance in the implementation of population and health surveys in countries worldwide. The three EDHS surveys have been conducted at five-year intervals since 2000, and the 2011 EDHS is the second survey presenting results on HIV and anemia prevalence. The preliminary report containing results of selected variables was released in October 2011, and this final report presents the details of the findings of the survey including results released earlier.
