HIGHLIGHTS:

 COLOMBIA: At least 29,100 people have been affected by the 2011 rainy season.

 BRAZIL: 31,000 people affected by rains. Various cities in the south of Brazil are under a state of emergency.

 PERU: 6,500 houses affected by rains in the city of Iquitos. Authorities are re-locating families to shelters.

 CUBA: Forest fires are growing, more than 6,000 hectares have burnt.
