Capacity Building needs assessment
Assessment of the GBV SC Partners’ needs will further guide the Capacity Building Action Plan to:
- Identify the organizations with GBV specialists (including PSS staff) available for joint training listed in the AP 2022/ 2023+;
- Organizations willing to contribute to organization/logistical and admin support of joint training initiatives.
Follow-up action:
- Deadline for the submission of input of inputs for the need assessment online questionnaire is the 7th September;
- GBV SC partners can share the need assessment with their local partners to share their inputs;
- Results will also feed the Humanitarian Needs Overview process;
- Revise the Capacity Building AP to incorporate an amended list of priority trainings;
- Update the list of GBV guidelines available on the GBV SC webpage;
- Share “GBViE Training Folder” for training materials with the GBV SC Partners.
Reminding on the Capacity Enhancement Action Plan key objectives:
- Map GBV capacity-building interventions by partners;
- Ensure two-way communication with responsible state, CSOs, and community representatives to contextualize (make it in line with local needs) Planning;
- Contribute to the assessment of capacities/gaps of GBV SC partners to implement GBV interventions;
- Assess need for GBViE related training for non-GBV humanitarian actors;
- Support popularization and the roll out of the GBV IMS+ (ethical and safe data management / linkages with case management);
- Develop and maintain the plan for joint capacity building interventions by GBV SC partners for GBV and non-GBV actors;
- Joint advocacy with donors on financial requirements.
Follow-up action:
- Adoption of the AP: deadline for commenting on the draft extended to 7 September;
- The AP to be populated by the GBV SC Partner’s plans/ongoing activities for 2022 and 2023+;
- AP will be continuously modified to reflect changes.
List of joint immediate trainings suggested for non-GBV/ GBV actors
- Psychological First Aid (PFA) training - PFA is a set of skills and knowledge that can be used to help people who are in distress. It is a way of helping people to feel calm and able to cope in a difficult situation. Through LOOK, LISTEN, AND LINK.
- Staff wellbeing training can be provided for the GBV SC partners if they are interested. 2 hours session can be provided as an introduction then later the full sessions.
Follow-up action:
- GBV SC to meet with RedR UK regarding their capacity-building activities.
- GBV SC to check the PFA training plans with MHPSS TWG
