Overview

This report, covering the period from July 2021 to June 2022, highlights how WHO continued supporting countries and areas in the Western Pacific Region in responding to COVID-19, particularly as cases increased in early 2022. WHO also supported Member States across a range of other areas to drive forward the shared vision to make the Western Pacific the healthiest and safest region. Most notably in helping to tackle noncommunicable diseases, reaching vulnerable, marginalized and hard-to-reach groups with disease elimination and control efforts, strengthening health systems and helping to mitigate the health impacts of climate change. Activities also continued to scale-up support for innovation for health impact and expand work on Communication for Health (C4H) initiatives.
