-Typhoon HINNAMNOR made landfall over the south-eastern Republic of Korea on 5 September in the evening (UTC) with maximum sustained winds up to 165 km/h. After that it passed over the Sea of Japan on 6 September, along the coast of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, weakening and dissipating.

  • Heavy rainfall, strong wind and storm surges affected the south-eastern Republic of Korea, triggering landslides, causing floods and several severe weather-related incidents.

  • Media report, as of 8 September, ten fatalities, two persons still missing, around 4,700 displaced people and approximately 12,000 destroyed or damaged buildings across the area of Pohang, Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongju cities. Over the next 48 hours, more heavy rainfall with locally very heavy rainfall is forecast over central and northern Honshu (the main island of Japan).
