Over the past few days, heavy rainfall has affected the municipalities of Puerto Lempira and Ahuás (north-eastern Gracias a Dios Department, eastern Honduras).

According to UN OCHA, at least 23,000 people in Puerto Lempira Municipality have been affected. Both affected municipalities requested assistance while, in Ahuás Municipality, food access is limited following the heavy rains.

On 2-3 August, moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast over the affected department.
