Earthquake

Ecuador (Update)

On 26 July, the Ecuador National Risk and Emergency Management Service (SNGRE per its acronym in Spanish) reported that in conjunction with the National Decentralized Risk Management System the organization has deployed emergency responses to help those affected by the 5.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred on 25 July. Humanitarian assistance in the form of tents, cots, hygiene and cleaning kits, beds, pillows, blankets, screens, and mattresses have been delivered to the affected families in the province of Carachi. Due to the earthquake, 8 people were injured, 18 houses were destroyed, and 379 houses, 27 public assets, 33 educational centers, and 5 health centers were affected. Severe Weather

El Salvador

On 26 July, the El Salvador Press Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic reported that due to the La Niña phenomenon that is affecting much of South America with heavy rains, 369 houses, most in metropolitan areas, have been affected. According to a media report, due to the rains, a total of 31 people were evacuated and temporarily placed in shelters. During the month of the July, 182 road obstructions occurred and on 25 July, 9 houses were affected. The reports are available at: Press Secretariat and El Mundo

Wildfire

United States of America (Update)

On 27 July, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), provided an update on the Oak Fire in Mariposa, California. The Fire has burned 18,532 acres and is now 26% contained. There are now 2,228 residents under mandatory evacuation orders, 1,138 houses are threatened, 3 houses and 1 structure were damaged, and 42 houses and 19 structures were destroyed. No injuries or fatalities have been reported. There is 1 shelter open with 39 occupants. The report is available at: FEMA
