On 26 July, the Ecuador Geophysical institute reported a 5.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred at a depth of 2.03 kilometers and was 12.62 kilometers from the border city of San Gabriel, in the province of Carchi in north Ecuador. According to a media report There have since been aftershocks felt in Imbabura, Pichincha, Esmeraldas, Sucumbíos, Napo, Orellana, and Pastaza. Guatemala (Update)

On 25 July, the Guatemala National Coordination System for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish), reported during the 2022 Rainy season, 1,135 incidents have occurred affected 1,947,914 people. In total, 3,721 houses have been damaged and 323 roads and 72 bridges have been affected. In addition, between 24-25 July, 15 incidents have affected 3,537 people in the departments of Alta Verapaz, Baja Verapaz, and Huehuetenango. The report is available at: CONRED


United States of America (Update)

On 26 July, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update to the Oak Fire in Mariposa, California. The fire has burned 17,241 acres and is now 16% contained. There are 2,464 people under mandatory evacuation orders, 1,440 houses are threatened, and 21 houses and 34 structures have been destroyed. There is currently 1 shelter open with 46 occupants and a State of Emergency has been declared for Mariposa County. The report is available at: FEMA
