Widespread drought persists over the Greater Horn of Africa due to failed rainfall season

Poor rainfall since the beginning of the March – May rainy season has led to abnormal dryness and drought across the Greater Horn of Africa with severe drought in north-central and eastern Ethiopia, the Kenya-Ethiopia border, Somalia, and southern Kenya.
