On 9 September, the Guatemala National Coordination System for Disaster Reduction (CONRED as per its acronym in Spanish) reported that since the beginning of the 2021 Rainy Season, a total of 717 severe weather incidents have been recorded in the form of mudslides, floods, and landslides. In conjunction with local authorities, CONRED has aided 18,572 persons, while 9,746 persons were evacuated, of which 623 have been placed in shelters. According to the Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (EDAN as per its acronym in Spanish), 1,213 houses sustained slight damage, 2,133 sustained moderate damage, and 114 were severely damaged. Wildfire

United States of America (Update)

On 10 September, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update on several wildfires on the West Coast of the country. In Plumas, California, the Dixie Fire has burned 928,741 acres (6,231 additional since the previous report on 9 September) and 59% were contained. Overall, 537 persons are under mandatory evacuation orders, 2,124 houses are threatened (220 additional since the previous report), 56 were damaged, and 744 have been destroyed (40 additional since the previous report). There remain 10 injuries and 1 fatality. In Trinity, California, the Monument Fire has burned 204,436 acres (5,607 additional since the previous report, 45% were contained, and has required the mandatory evacuation of 7,950 persons (150 additional since the previous report. In total, 5,780 houses are threatened, 3 have been damaged, and 20 have been destroyed. There have been 9 injuries reported. In El Dorado, California, the Caldor Fire has burned 218,405 acres (546 additional since the previous report)and 53% were contained . In the surrounding areas, 9,443 persons are under mandatory evacuation orders (a decrease of 1,383 since the previous report) , 23,691 houses are threatened, 53 have been damaged, and 782 have been destroyed. Altogether 10 persons have been injured. In El Dorado County there remain 5,607 persons without power. The report is available at: FEMA.
