The Italian Air Force's KC 767 plane has just landed at Fiumicino airport with about 70 people on board, including diplomatic staff and former Afghan collaborators. The flight, which took off yesterday, is part of the plan to bring Italian embassy staff back home and of the Aquila Omnia Operation to bring former Afghan collaborators and their families to Italy.

The plan and operation were planned and directed by the Joint Operations Headquarters (JOHQ), commanded by General Luciano Portolano, and carried out by the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), the operational element of JOHQ, with the collaboration of the Italian Red Cross for initial reception and medical support.

At the same time and after the evacuation of diplomatic and compatriot personnel, the coordination work of the JOHQ military team will continue, with Aquila Omnia Operation, for the humanitarian evacuation from Afghanistan of Afghan collaborators of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in the shortest possible time, through an airlift provided by KC767 aircraft of the Italian Air Force.
