Dengue

  • Dengue serotype unknown in Vanuatu: From 15th April to 4th August 2021, there have been a total of 18 locally acquired, confirmed dengue cases reported by Vila Central Hospital.*A red alert is added to the map*. – Source : Dengue Outbreak on Efate Island, Vanuatu- Situational Report 1, 09 August 2021, sent on PacNet on 10 August 2021.

  • DENV-2 in Wallis and Futuna: One (1) new local case has been reported in Futuna in week 30. There have been no case reported in this period. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)

  • New Zealand: An outbreak of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is currently ongoing across New Zealand. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)

  • Australia: As of 16 August 2021, 39,615 confirmed cases of COVID-19including 965 deaths were reported in Australia. Local cases have been reported in the last 14 days.– Source: Department of Health, Australian Government accessed on 17 August 2021.

  • Guam: As of 16 August 2021, 9,018 confirmed and probablecases and 143 deaths were reported by Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS).   • New Zealand: As of 17 August 2021, 2,926 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 26deaths were reported by New Zealand Ministry of Health.
