24 January 2021 — Three hundred, and twenty-eight (328) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 8293 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases twelve thousand, nine hundred, and seventy-five (12975). To date, eight thousand, four hundred, and twenty (8420) patients have recovered, including one hundred, and one (101) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is four thousand, three hundred, and eighty-one (4381) and one hundred, and seventy-four (174) deaths. The 2 new deaths are a female of 57 years in Nyamagabe District, and one male of 63 years old in Kigali.

The new cases are in Kigali (246), Gatsibo (13), Rulindo (), Kirehe (), Gakenke (), Karongi (7), Musanze (), Nyagatare (4), Ruhango (), Rubavu (3), Huye (), Muhanga (), Ngoma (5), Gicumbi (18), Kamonyi (3), Nyamasheke (2), Nyanza (), and Rwamagana (10); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds. Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
