Austria is providing the United Nations’ International Organization for Migration (IOM) with one million euros for the humanitarian care of refugees and migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The rapid aid is intended to help improve the living conditions of women, children and unaccompanied minors directly on the ground.

The situation has become extremely critical in recent weeks. In part because of the wintry conditions, we want to quickly make our contribution to help improve living conditions here. With the rapid aid, we are supporting the important work of IOM directly on the ground and therefore helping once again in a very concrete way,

explained Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg.

The aid is provided through the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) for the care of women, children and unaccompanied minors in particular. The Austrian contribution will be available in the next few days.

With one million euros for the IOM Crisis Response Plan 2021, Austria is enabling urgently needed protection and life-saving humanitarian care for refugees and migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The contribution is helping the International Organization for Migration (IOM) provide aid to thousands of people in need in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
