13 January 2021 — One hundred and seventy-two (172) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 2173 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases ten thousand, one hundred, and twenty-two (10122). To date, six thousand, nine hundred, and seventy-four (6974) patients have recovered, with no one in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is three thousand, and twenty (3020) and one hundred and twenty-eight (128) deaths. The 3 new deaths are male, two of 50 and 61 years in Kigali, and another one of 90 years old in Kigali.

The new cases are in Kigali (88), Huye (33), Rwamagana (15), Musanze (6), Rubavu (4), Nyagatare (3), Muhanga (3), Nyamasheke (3), Burera (2), Rusizi (1), Karongi(1), and Gakenke (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds. Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
