South Sudan: Weekly IPC Pillar Progress Report (15 - 21 June 2020)

SUMMARY

IPC TWG leadership continues to support national and state level coordination of IPC partners, finalization of guidelines and harmonization of training materials along with other IPC partners. To scale up IPC and WASH in health facilities and communities, IPC WASH pillar continues to scale up activities with improved collaboration of an integration of WASH services with RCCE, Health and Nutrition actors in health facilities, POCs and communities at risk. During the reporting week, the below achievements were realized:

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS (as reported for week 15 June - 21 June 2020)

31,000 people reached with critical WASH supplies/hygiene items and services

116,800 people engaged and reached with integrated COVID-19 and hygiene promotion services

at least 199,600 people reached with WASH facility upgrades (repairs, rehabilitation and new construction

at least 400 people reached with cloth face masks distributions in public places

104 health wokers trained in COVID 19 IPC measures

5 triage and screening area set up as per SOP

7 health facilities assessed on IPC WASH status

22 health facilities provided with PPE supplies

11 COVID-19 treatment facilities supported with PPE and IPC supplies

765 hand washing station installed in health facilities and communities and provided with soap or 0.05% chlorine solution (168 completed and 597 ongoing during the week)
