DoDMA Provides Relief Assistance to Food Insecure Households in Machinga

Government, through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs, (DoDMA) on Tuesday (28th January, 2020) provided relief assistance to food insecure households in TA Nkoola, Machinga District.
This follows the District Council's recent report which indicated that the affected people required immediate food assistance.
A total of 1,200 bags of rice (each weighing 50kg) have been distributed to 1,200 households.
The department is, in collaboration with various humanitarian partners, currently implementing the 2019/20 Lean Season Food Insecurity Response Programme where it will reach out to over 1, 879, 000 food insecure people with relief assistance.
