The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) received Php 2,000,000.00 from GT Foundation, Inc. (GTFI), to sponsor 3,000 runners in support for the Million Volunteer Run (MVR) 5— the country’s largest humanitarian run.

“PRC is grateful to GT Foundation for the humanitarian assistance they have been giving us through the years. This will help us to enhance our capacity in disaster, relief, and emergency operations”, said Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon.

GT Foundation has a well-established partnership with PRC —having contributed to the PRC M/V Amazing Grace, Typhoon Mangkhut (Ompong) and Dengue operations, ambulance Samaritan program and now for the PRC annual run—the MVR 5 which will be held on December 8, 2019, 5 A.M., at the Quirino Grandstand.

PRC was also one of the recipients of the memorial contributions for the late philanthropist Dr. George SK Ty, Metrobank founder, which was allocated to support patients of the PRC Dialysis Center.

Present at the ceremonial turnover were GTFI Executive Director Aniceto Sobrepena, Metrobank Foundation Executive Director Nicanor Torres Jr., GTFI Head of Secretariat Philip Jay Pronstroller, PRC Governor and Chairman of the Million Volunteer Run Ernesto Isla, Human Resources Director Caren Thomas, and Finance Director Ana Buensuceso.
