On Tuesday, January 12, Haiti was ravaged by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake resulting in tragic devastation across the island country. We at Air Serv International are deeply saddened by this event, especially by the shocking number of people who are suffering.

We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the thousands personally touched by this crisis. We are praying for you, as well as for the many who will be struggling bravely to survive in the weeks, months and even years ahead.

Air Serv is helping to coordinate logistics for many volunteers working to get feet on the ground and relief supplies to the unimaginable numbers of victims who are suffering. Presently we are trying to match up offers of large aircraft with requirements for large lift capacities, both personnel and cargo. Air Serv facilitated a cargo flight provided by Federal Express for World Vision International from World Vision's logistics center in Denver, Colorado to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The flight will be loaded in Denver Sunday evening (January 17th) and will arrive in Santo Domingo Monday morning.

Air Serv is also deploying its aircraft from Warrenton, Virginia to Santo Domingo with two pilots and a mechaic from its subsidiary SkyWorld Aviation based at the Warrenton-Fauquier County airport in Virginia. A twice daily shuttle service for World Vision International personnel and light cargo will be established between Santo Domingo and Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. The aircraft and crew will depart Warrenton for Santo Domingo on Sunday, January 17th.
