Sudan floods leave 40,000 affected

An estimated 40,000 people have been affected by heavy rains and floods in the Abyei Area, a disputed area on the border between Sudan and South Sudan.

The UN and humanitarian partners are assisting those in accessible areas with food and non-food items. Some areas, however, remain inaccessible due to the flooding.
