Highlights/updates since the last map was sent on PacNet on 14 October 2019

• Samoa: A measles epidemic has been confirmed by the Samoa Ministry of Health. A total of 7 cases (2 adults and 5 children) have been confirmed. ‒ Source: Samoa Ministry of Health Measles Epidemic Official Communication No.1 posted on PacNet on 19 October 2019

• Australia (Queensland): 10 cases of measles have been notified by Queensland Health on Brisbane South, Gold Coast and Cairns. ‒ Source: Queensland Healthhttps://www.health.qld.gov.au/news-events/health-alerts/measles website accessed on 21 October 2019 at 4:00pm

• Kiribati: The outbreak of unknown etiology is over and the cause is yet to be determined. The alert has been removed from the map.

Additional information of relevance (e.g. imported cases with travel history to Pacific Island countries and territories):

• Twenty eight (28) imported cases of dengue (19 cases of DENV-1, 7 cases of DENV-2 and 2 cases of dengue serotype unknown) with travel history to Fiji were reported by Queensland Health (notifiable conditions data) for the period 01/01/2019 – 13/10/2019 available online.

• Nine (9) imported cases of dengue (1 case of DENV-1, 6 cases of DENV-4 and 2 cases of dengue serotype unknown) with travel history to Papua New Guinea were reported by Queensland Health (notifiable conditions data) for the period 01/01/2019 – 13/10/2019 available online.
