Weather related incidents required emergency response within the camps and host communities during September. Heavy rains and flooding affected more than 2,200 households throughout the month, with camps in Teknaf particularly affected. Humanitarian partners focused on supporting community led emergency preparedness activities, and distributed shelter kits and core relief items to affected households in need. In addition, a camp-wide clean-up campaign was initiated in September, targeting mosquito breeding sites in camps to mitigate dengue.

Restrictions in telecommunications services in the camps including 3G and 4G mobile data were introduced on 7 September. The resulting decrease in access to mobile and internet signal in and around the camps is hampering emergency response and day to day coordination, including impacts on the delivery of critical, life-saving healthcare services, and access of affected communities to a dedicated Protection Hotline for reporting incidents.
