In Nariño department, after new visa restrictions from the Ecuadorian Government in effect from 26th August, over 7,400 people arrived daily to Ipiales between the 15th and 25th of August. With the new requirement, the number of people using informal border crossings -more than 100 according to Migración Colombia- have increased.

• WFP reached over 270,000 people providing hot meals in community kitchens, vouchers, food kits for 'caminantes' (walking migrants) and emergency school meals. In Nariño, in response to the massive influx of migrants in Ipiales, WFP supported over 45,000 people. WFP distributed food kits to vulnerable families in the resource-scarce region of Alta Guajira, home to the Wayuu indigenous communities, who live between the Colombian and Venezuelan borders.

• In response to local authorities and the Unit for Victims Assistance, WFP assisted around 29,017 conflict-affected people in the departments of Choco, Nariño, Córdoba, Caquetá, Valle del Cauca and Norte de Santander.

• Colombia CO received funds to strengthen the InterAgency and Government preparedness and response capacity, both at the national and local level.

• WFP Colombia is currently engaged in a Mid Term Review and the results and recommendations will be crucial to prepare the Colombia Country Strategy Plan (CSP).
