Dengue

· There has been a constant decline in the weekly number of dengue-like illness and dengue confirmed (Dengue Duo Rapid Diagnostis Test positive) cases since the epi week 25 in Tuvalu. Febrile illness cases reported from the outer islands also show a decline in cases. [Source Dengue SitRep Epi week 30]

Measles

· As of week ending 12 July there were 54 additional cases in New Zealand, the most number of cases reported in a week since the beginning of the outbreak, bringing a total of 407 cases since 1 January 2019; including 161 hospitalisations (39.6 %). Of the 54 new cases; the greatest proportion was in Pacific Islanders (54%); followed by Maori (24%) ethnic group. Sixty-five percent (65%) of the 54 new cases were from Counties Manuakau. Ebola Virus Disease (EVD)

· Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC): On 30 July 2019, the second case of EVD was reported from Goma, the Provincial Capital of North Kivu. The case travelled from Ituri Province by bus and had symptom onset from 22 July before presenting to hospital on 30 July and passing away on 31 July. It has been one year since the DRC Government declared an outbreak of EVD on 1 August 2018 (WHO statementhttps://www.who.int/news-room/detail/31-07-2019-at-1-year-mark-we-mourn-the-lives-lost-and-call-for-solidarity). On 17 July 2019, it was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). As of 30 July 2019, the cumulative number of cases is 2,701 (2,607 confirmed, 94 probable) including 1,813 deaths (CFR 67%) reported from 26 health zones in North Kivu and Ituri Provinces.
