According to the Border Monitoring Team of the Directorate of Refugees and Repatriation (DoRR), a total of 18,251 undocumented Afghans spontaneously returned or were deported from Iran through the Milak (Nimroz) and Herat (Islam Qala) border crossings between 7-13 April 2019, 250% more than in the previous week (5,215). 8,025 returned voluntarily, 10,226 were deported. This brings the total number of undocumented returnees from Iran since 01 January 2019 to 118,598. IOM provided post-arrival humanitarian assistance to 823 (5%) undocumented Afghans deported from Iran at its Transit Centers in Nimroz and Herat, including 149 Unaccompanied Migrant Children, 74 Medical Cases, 103 members of Single Parent Families, 32 Physically Disabled, 34 Special Cases, 18 Unaccompanied Elderly, 46 Drug Addicted, 39 members of a Poor Family, 5 Single Female and 320 members of deported families.
