This month 1,250 people crossed the land borders and 1,900 arrived on the Greek Aegean islands. A shipwreck off Samos island resulted in the loss of three lives, including two children, after their boat capsized. Since 2018, 179 people have been found dead or are still missing attempting to reach Greece. UNHCR welcomed the concrete measures announced by the Government for the integration of refugees. There is a need to accelerate implementation and UNHCR continues to support these efforts.
