This Situation Report is produced by OCHA Regional Office for Southern and Eastern Africa in collaboration with humanitarian partners. The Situation Report builds on Flash Updates #1 through #15 and provides detailed information on the situation and response by sector. The next report will be issued as of 11 April 2019.
HIGHLIGHTS
• On 10 April, 391 new cholera cases were reported, bringing the total reported cases to 4,373, according to the Ministry of Health.
• The Oral Cholera Vaccination (OCV) campaign ended on 9 April, with 803,125 people vaccinated.
• More than 867,300 people had received food assistance as of 10 April and distribution of seeds for the winter harvest began in Sofala province.
• The number of school-age children affected by the crisis has risen to at least 305,728, according to government figures.
• A total of 10,542 children (6-59 months) have been screened for acute malnutrition in the cyclone-affected districts. Out of these, 86 children were severely malnourished and 229 were moderately malnourished.
• 22,775 households have been reached with shelter materials and/or non-food items.

SITUATION OVERVIEW
As of 10 April, the official death toll remained at 602 people, and the number of houses destroyed was 239,731, including 112,745 houses totally destroyed, 111,202 partially destroyed, and 15,784 flooded. Meanwhile, the Government reported that the number of people living in collective sites was 73,643 as of 10 April. Follow-up is ongoing to understand the reason for the sharp reduction in numbers of people living in collective sites from 8 to 9 April.
According to the Ministry of Health, as of 10 April, the total number of registered cholera cases reached 4,373, with 391 new cases reported from Beira (251), Dondo (67), Nhamatanda (66) and Buzi (7). Of the 4,373 cases reported, over 4,000 have been treated and are recovering. Meanwhile, the Oral Cholera Vaccination campaign ended on 9 April, with 803,125 people vaccinated; 98.6 per cent of the target.
